Re: Acer S7-391-6822 Plugged in, Not charging. Orange light blinking / flashing

I am having the exact same issue with mine, and have yet to determine or find a solution. For a $1700 ultra book this is rather inconvenient.

system recovery did not resolve the problem. Do you guys have any other ideas?

I know we have one of your units setup to come into our repair facility. Is this being done? I believe this might be the best way to determine what the issue is and hopefully provide a solution/fix for anyone else experiencing this issue.

Hi,

I have sent a unit to your facility already. I hope they will be able to find a quick fix (hopefully a software fix).

Great, could you send me a tracking number and possible a case number via private message? I'll do what I can to get this reviewed as fast as possible.

Re: Acer S7-391-6822 Plugged in, Not charging. Orange light blinking / flashing

We received one of the units discussed in our repair facility. The diagnosis was a battery failure, and it was replaced. Once replaced the computer was able to charge and function normally. Our engineer's reviewed to ensure there wasn't another issue affecting the battery performace. They confirmed that there is not, the battery just needed to be replaced.

I would suggest contacting your warranty support team if you're having this issue so it can be addressed.

Re: Acer S7-391-6822 Plugged in, Not charging. Orange light blinking / flashing

I knew it was a battery faliure. The question is why 10 laptop batteries have failed at the same time (And only couple of months after the warranty has expired).

I think you guys should study this more and maybe recall all of the affected machines.

Re: Acer S7-391-6822 Plugged in, Not charging. Orange light blinking / flashing

That's why we brought one in to review, not just repair and ship back. Our engineers reviewed the unit and ultimately the battery to ensure there wasn't a systemic failure that would fall outside of a normal failure range, which unfortunately does happen from time to time. The S7-391 has been in customers hands for over 18 months and while batteries fail from time to time, the overall failure rate is well within normal limits. This thread has remained rather active for several weeks now with yourself and one other individual discussing this issue. I don't think a recall is appropriate for 9 units when tenof thousands have made into customer hands world wide.

I understand theres some frustration, I still hold out that there is something that isn't being factored into the equation when you talk about 8 unit's all stop working with the same failure. I'll send you a private message and see if we can work something out to help you get back up and running.

Re: Acer S7-391-6822 Plugged in, Not charging. Orange light blinking / flashing

I, too, am having this problem.  My model is a S7-391-9839.  This thing plugs in and works just fine, but the battery says 0% available, not charging.  I've also left it powered off and it still does not charge.  I just got this laptop today.

Please provide me a means of return to your center for repair.

Thanks!

Re: Acer S7-391-6822 Plugged in, Not charging. Orange light blinking / flashing

My Acer S7-392 had been idle for a few months and had the problem where it was 0% and not charging when plugged in.  Using the battery reset, I was able to restore the system.  There is a hole on the bottom side with a graphic of removing the battery.  Using a pin, I pressed this recessed button while the system was on, lid closed and the orange charging light came on immediately.  This button must temporarily remove the battery "electrically" from the system as a way to reset the controller that contols charging.

Hope this works for others.  worked for me
