I havn't seen the inside of the laptop, nor how the screw needs to make contact with the ground plate, so I can't be sure about the glue anymore.
But to be honest, I was just re-posting the idea given by dunkx in his post about the glue. I was trusting that he probably knew about this and felt it might be a good idea.
In any case, I agree that this might break the electric connection with the screw. But this would only be a problem if you need the connection with the screw, and not between the to plates joined by the screw.
Perhaps dunkx can clarify.

I will post some photos below showing the contact points.
I would not be using (Super Glue)!!
We are still waiting on word from acer about the Locktite solution and warranty.
We have been advised to use "LOW STRENGTH THREADLOCKERS" from Locktite
If you use anything stronger it might break the "nut" formed into the case under the PCB
pictured below.
If you look at the picture below you will see the pad stuck around the screw hole, This is what makes contact to the PCB in the above photo. I would not use any solvents on this. as it may remove the glue holding the pad in place, or damage it in some way.
I hope all of this has helped.
If your problem has returned, Check the screw is still tight, if it was loose.... then try to get some of the above locktite. If it was tight and did not help, I would take it into a service centre for help.
Regards,
Dunkx

I know you need more information, but for now, I can tell we are not recommending using loctite or any kind of glue at this time. It could affect your warranty, and cause the plastics to become brittle. I've been feeding this info back to the appropriate teams and I know they're reviewing this issue. I will provide details as soon as they are available.
If you're continuing to experience issues, could you private message me the following information.
How often are you experiencing this issue or how can you make it happen:

Cory,
1.
Can you please tell me what Plastics might become brittle?
This model has an all alloy shell top and base plate.......
2.
I wont post my list of SN here but let me know if you need them and i will pm them to you.
I have over 180 of these Acer S7's. According to my Jobs database I have seen 140 out of 180 of them in my office at leaset once for this issue.
90 have been in more than 4 times and come back once 4 to 6 weeks.
I am looking at around 7-10 laptops per day in for repair for this issue. This equates to around 4% of our fleet failing per day! I know there are users out there that will not come into our office for repairs, and are just using the laptop as a hard wired desktop!
We have been suffering this issue for more than 6 months and ACER still has no FIX for this issue!

I'd definitely like to take a look at the list of SNs if you could pm those to me.
You're correct, the lower case is aluminum, I made an assumption over the weekend and found out otherwise this morning that it is not a plastic lower case. I still can't suggest using loctite at this point, but I understand that you need help resolving this issue.

Acer can confirm that a safety feature disables the internal battery while the case is open for Service related needs. This feature does require a certain amount of internal contact pressure in the lower case assembly.
If you’re having issues with the unit powering down while on battery power, tightening the screws at the rear of the unit may help with this issue. If you have already tightened the screws and continue to have issues, or you’re not capable of tightening the screws, contact your local Acer Service department for assistance.

I just wanted to give a big thanks to this thread and Dunkx, I was pulling out my hair and ACER had no clue what the problem was. To think they don't check these forums is ludicrous. I couldn't find it in their knowledge base. I even told them the symptoms I was getting and they were like um never heard of that... "must be faulty battery" he said . Acer wanted me to pay to send in my laptop! Thankfully I found this thread and I tightend the middle screw and VOILA! I can run my S7 on battery! Doing it right now as I right this response. Thank You! ![]()
No thanks to ACER! ![]()

Definitey want to thank Dunkx, for solving the problem for all of us. I have a S7-391-6468 and was experiencing the same issue. I contacted ACER customer service online and was told to ship the computer to them in Texas. This would have cost $50-$75 and a few weeks without a PC.
Problem occured randomy but could be triggered easy by movement (rotating 360 deg).
Middle screw was loose and tightening it solved the issue. Why couldn't Acer CS tell me this and save me time and money???

OMG Dunkx Acer should give you free computers for life. I was literally about to put my S7-392 into a box to ship back to Acer when I saw your post. 3/8 of a turn with a Torx T-6 and my computer turned on as soon as I opened it - something it almost never did.
Thank you.
