I do believe that the screws were tight on delevery of our units. It took more than 3 months for this issue to be reported back to us after rollout. However some people here and other places on the net have been reporting this happing days or weeks after purchasing the laptops.
We will be looking at adding locktight to the screws in queston on all repairs we do in house from now on.

Can you take a photo of the bottom of your laptop and post it here?
I have never seen a sticker in the way of the screw.

Jonstatt,
We have had the wifi issues that was caused buy the early wifi drivers, the drivers were updated on our software image.
We have not had any issues with the wifi since.
When this new image was deployed accross our fleet, we also did the bios update. This was due to some laptops running their cooling fans at full speed all the time. the new bios fixed this issue.
Otherwise the only other issues I see are due misuse/abuse of the laptop.
Regards,
Andrew

Hi,
I figured it out. It was a small white sticker that covered the screw. After i removed it and tighten the screw, my laptop has been on battery for about 2 hrs without issues. Thanks everybody. I was about to send it to the service center or sell my laptop.

I would like to ask the OP of this thread (blwebster) to edit his original question, and add that the solution to this problem is found in post 35. If there is any moderator around, you could also do it, as the OP is apparently not reading this thread anymore (probably forgot to subscribe).
This is the direct link to the post:

hi everyone, i have tighend the screw, and it helped nicely for about a week, just a couple of minutes ago, the problem repeated.

Perhaps you can try tightening the other 2 screws at the sides.
Adding a thin layer of loctite (super glue) might also be a good idea.

Thank you, I have a question about the glue, does that void warranty?

I realise the post about glue was trying to be helpful but I would NOT do this. I don't think it will help.
The main thing to understand is that this screw is helping make contact with a grounding plate inside the back of the casing. I don't know if the connection is corroding or why the contact is not solid enough. Personally I suspect the whole back panel needs to come off, clean the contacts (I haven't seen the inside myself) and then screw it back together. In the short term though I suspect removing the screw and reinserting it will probably get you another couple of weeks. Do not risk over-tightening the screw. I don't believe the screw is unwinding or loosening itself so I don't think glue will help.

Thank you, I can tell the screw in question has been corroded mildy in my unit, which i find weird, considering the units age.
