Does your laptop work now? I have a break in school right now and was seeing if what they did worked or if I am going to have to compain until I get a new one/refund...

I think this has been mentioned before, but i'll repeat it just in case:
I also see a related strange behavior when resuming from suspension. This means, I can suspend de computer correctly every time, and it will remain suspended for as long as the battery lasts. However, 50% of the times I try to resume from suspension, the computer reboots itself immediately.
I think it is related because I can see the same immediateness when it reboots as when it suddenly shuts-down.
Another thing that might be of interest is that I am running the BIOS in non-UEFI mode. Is this the same case for anyone else?

After the Theory of the battery reset.
We are now working on a new theory, since the middle of last week i have used this on 5 laptops.
If I remove the middle red screw the laptop will not power on while on the battery.
With power cord attached it will power on.
So we have just been removing this screw and confirming it is the longer of the two types of screws used.
Once this screw has been replaced. The laptop tests fine running on battery and power. I have been using this fix for 4 days now and looks good.
tldr:
Just tighten the middle red screw

For some reason, the image you attached is not visible.
Can you please re-upload?
Probably because I can't see the image is that I don't understand what purpose does the screw serve. Can you please clarify? I can't understand why loosening a screw would prevent the laptop from drawing power from the battery.
By the same reason, Could you please specify where is this red screw located?
Thank you

If I understood, I have to check the screw in the center of computer below the monitor. If it is the longer one (if not I have to replace tith a onger one) I have to screw it tight. And thats all ?

I greatly appreciate the efforts with experimentation and feedback. But likes others I would greatly appreciate more information about why that screw is linked to the ability to the laptop to even boot-up on battery alone. Is the screw acting as some kind of grounding plate?
Please don't go sticking longer screws in without getting some more feedback first as otherwise you may damage something internally.

Besides sharing my concern about the "longer" screw, I wanted to publicly thank Dunkx for the time he (or she?) is putting into this, and helping us all.
Kind regards

Had exactly the same problem: started two days ago and got increasingly worse to the point that today it would shut down after one or two minutes if not plugged in (in particular, it would shut down immediately if moved).
I found this thread and tested the middle screw theory: without the middle screw, the machine does not start at all when on battery; I checked the three screws and they were all of equal length; then I tightened the middle screw and for the time being it seems that the problem has been resolved: the machine has been running on battery power for about half an hour now without any problems.
