    Pradip,

Perform a system restore to before the updates were installed and see if they start working again.

    Pradip,

If they went bad after an update, that should have resolved it. If they still do not working after trying different USB devices to make sure it is not the device that is connected (batteries, etc), it might be a hardware problem. What do you have connected to those ports, have you checked the power sources for those devices to make sure that is not the culprit?

i use the P253-MG, as well the Aspire 5551  and i had never make an Acer Update in it. Never touch a running system.

My last faults where on my absolutly last Windofs 7-Updates befor 3 weeks, which destroy my 2 Notebooks completly. I was happy that i had make the image backups, so after recombination its was more or less on a STate which was running.

An other Question . You connect at any time an external Harddrive on the USB 2 or 3 without an Y-cable? If You hat connected, the Hardrive destroy the Current feed, while it is permissed up to max. 500mA and all the external Harddrives have a consumption between 0.9 - 1 Amp.

Hi! I have the same problem! My 2 USB ports on the rightside suddenly died! I think it´s some hardware that has died. Can the USB ports be replaced? Or must i send my machine to a shop?

    hi roger,

it^s just a real problem to answer on this **bleep** acer forum, unacceptabel.

If there is no any more light on an exernal device, i think the fuse is in the hell. It's a problem to measure the 5Volts at the USB connector respectivly You must cut a connetcor from an USB-cable and dismanteling it for connect the DVM to the separated wires.

I think You connect a Memory stick with an short circuit on the 5V input in it or You connect an external HDD without the Y-cable or when You had used the Y-cable then probably You connect first the HDD on it and then after the two USB-Connectors one by one and this can destroying the internal Fuse (soldered?) definitly too.

Even never try the left USB with an HDD for faster upload, while You detroy also the fuse and there ist a lot of other problems with the HDD. I use this left fast USB only for the transceiver of my wireless Mouse.

Where the fuse ist i d'ont no. You must gugelin for this information.

    regards Willy
