Hello!

I've tried to install Windows 10 in my Acer Aspire Switch 10e but I get the error

"Windows could not complete installation, please restart the installation"

Things I've already done:

- I downloaded Windows 10 Iso with Windows MediaCreationTool

- I burned it in a pendrive with Rufus:

     - GPT

     - Fat32

- About Bios-Uefi:

    - Disabled secure boot

- I removed all the partitions in the disc

but there is no way I can complete the installation. What can I do?

Thanks in advance!

I finally got what I wanted.

I couldn't install from an ISO since I always had the same issue with the installation BUT I found out another solution for that purpose

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10startfresh

With this tool, you can install windows fresh, without Acer bloatware. The previous version is saved in Windows.old which has a big size but you can remove it later with the windows space cleaner.

Thanks to all for all the responses

Don't disable secure boot.  Go back in to your BIOS settings and load the BIOS defaults (F9) and then save/exit (F10).

Also, if you're trying to install Creators version, it might not work depending on your computer model.  Windows 10 Creators is not compatible with all computer models.

You can get older ISO versions of Windows 10 from this link.

And lastly, double check that you have the settings circled below before you click "start".

    Thanks for the response.

With the default windows 10 acer version, I could update it to the latest release of Windows and it worked fine.

I tried it with and without secure boot.

I did it like the picture you attached in your message

    But still doesn't work

    1. Go in to your BIOS settings a load the defaults and then save/exit.

    2. Go back in to BIOS and enable the F12 boot menu and then save/exit.

    3.  Boot the Windows installation USB.

    4.  When you see the screen below, press Shift F10 on your keyboard to get a command prompt.

    5. At the command prompt, use "diskpart clean" to wipe your HDD

    diskpart

    list disk

select disk 0   (assuming disk 0 is your HDD)

    clean

    exit

    exit

    6. Press and hold your computer's power button until your computer shuts off.

    7.  Turn on your computer

    8. Install Windows......select custom installation

    9. Click on your HDD (it should say unallocated space)  click Next...and the windows installer will automatically partition and format your HDD and install windows.

You can google search "Windows could not complete installation, please restart the installation".

I'd probably contact microsoft though.  I'm not familiar with that error message.

Obviously you can order your original OEM recovery media from Acer too if you forgot to create a USB factory default recovery drive as a last resort.
