Acer Aspire R7-572 Tablet Pen As Of 4/11/16????

Hello,

I have an acer r7-572 that I purchased about 2 years ago. I had brought the original stylus for the laptop at that time, but currently misplaced it. I needed to purchase a new one, but that model of pen made specifically for this model is no longer listed in the shop website or on amazon!

I accidentally purchased a "Active Stylus II" thinking it was for this model, but it is for the other R7, not mine.

Are there any places to purchase the respective pen for this laptop anymore, (or a driver to install for the II that would allow me to use it) or am I going to have to go penless?

Thank you so much for the help!!!

It appears the previous thread was removed. One of the link I had was wrong too.

    Below are the valid ones

    http://www.compsource.com/pn/NPSTY1A005/Acer-10/

    http://geizhals.de/acer-active-stylus-pen-2nd-gen-np-sty1a-005-a1370014.html?hloc=at&hloc=de

If you have a Microsoft Store in your area, walk in and pick up a Surface Pro 3 or Surface Pro 4 pen.

Note: No driver will make the R13 pen you bought work, as the laptop uses a completely different digitizer.

The digitizer on your R7 is originally made by N-Trig, N-Trig has been used on many different laptops including the microsft Surface Pro. Recently Microsoft bought N-Trig, so they are now the official manufacturer of that digitizer and pens.

A few more places to buy a compatible pen for R7-572

    http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Surface-Pen-Pro/dp/B00KHQWAIC

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Stylus-for-Fujitsu-Stylislic-Q702-Q550-Q552-Q572-N-trig-Surface-/191798807977?hash=item2ca8198da9:g:JtEAAOSw5dNWsru4

I own both a Surface Pro 3 and an R7-572, I can guarrantee you the Surface Pro 3 stylus works on both Smiley Happy

I actually also use an N-Trig HTC stylus on the Acer R7-572, but it is no longer sold.

I need to replace my active stylus, which functions erratically after several years.  I will try it with the Surface Pro Pen and will post if it works.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

I tried the surface pro 3 pen and it absolutely works!! It's cheapest on amazon from what I saw.

I can confirm that this works.  Just got a Surface pen and tried it.   Everything seems to function with the same drivers I had on my R7-572 from the old pen.

I have an Aspire R7-572 with Windows 10.  My active stylus seemed to be wearing out so I got a surface pen and from the moment I received it it worked without pairing--the writing functions were fine but I had no button functions and didn't miss them.   Then the pen stopped working as a stylus or to write.  I replaced the battery, paired the pen with my Aspire R7-572, and the button functions started to work (screenshot, Onenote, Cortana), but the writing and erasing functions still don't work.  I followed the troubleshooting guide and "reseated" the one tip I have.  This didn't help.  I tried to download the Surface tablet drivers but Microsoft won't allow it.

What I am hoping someone might know is whether buying a set of new  tips is likely to restore the writing functionality, or whether the surface pen is simply broken and needs to be replaced.

If you have a Microsoft store not too far away or a computer store that sells surfaces, go in with your R7 and try one of their pen..
