As Acer is unwilling to help me other then having me wait 5-10 business days for the media recovery usb. My laptop keeps crashing at least once a day, 7 times in 5 days now.

I have the Aspire ES1-511

Thank you in advance

Did your recovery partition get damaged somehow and you tried to do it from a set of key combinations?

The downside is that due to Microsoft's new licensing restrictions you will not be able to just download a Windows 8.1 OEM ISO and think you can repair an installation as the activation for OEM copies is done a different way per MS licensing requirements to curb piracy.

Even though Acer states 5 - 10 days its often quicker delivery depending on where you live. I remember ordering a recovery set a couple of years back for a Gateway 11.6 laptop that i used to own and the media arrived in 3 days.

I would suggest ordering the media from there and just wait.

You can purchase Windows 8.1 OEM kits from online but they are intended for system builders only. The price of this far exceeds what you would have to pay if you ordered a genuine recovery kit from Acer.
