No Sound On Liquid E3 Phone Speaker and Distorted Ringtone

Hello again.

On my Acer E3 phone I did the following to remove this problem “Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped”:

1. Remove all your pictures from your phone to your PC, external drive, storage etc
2. Go to settings> Applications> Manage Applications> Make sure “All” is selected above > scroll to Gallery> Press on it and hit “Clear Data”.
3. Back out of settings.
4. Turn your phone off.

5. Turn phone on.

What has happened now is I get no AUDIO output out of the phone speaker.... but it's fine when I plug the headphones in to listen to a video, audio source. AND - the phone rings with a "normal" UK ring tone - but distorted like the volume is too high and has blown the speakers?

E380

4.2.2.

Build Number: Acer_AV052_E380_1.006.00_EMEA_3UKs

Thanks

Paul

    As an update...

I have reset to factory settings and the audio problem still remains.

If it is under warranty, send it back.

I there a sticky thread somewhere on recommendations on how to best clear all personal data before returning a faulty phone?

    Nope, but:

    power off your device

now press Volume DOWN + power button

    select Recovery

on the next screen with dead android, press power button

    select wipe data/factory reset

    reboot

    I'm not an Acer employee.

    Hi y'all!

In the end it went back. No-one could work out what the problem was.

Swapped back to a reliable Samsung (S4 Mini) Smiley Happy

Thanks for all the help/advice everyone.
