Acer has released a FOTA update that should resolve the Audio issues that were reported. This update will also be available for download from our support site. We are still investigating auto shutdowns that were reported and hope to have a resolution soon.

First of all thanks for your help. Second i installed the update followed by a factory reset via recovery menu. Until now from what i have noticed phone recovers from standby much faster than before when sometimes there was a delay of even 3-4 seconds(and sometimes it did not recover at all
).If this audio fix managed to bring such an improvement then i am really looking forward to the next update lol.

I have found a way to turn on phone without removing the battery when it freezes. Long press power button(30 sec) and then vol down + power. It worked every time for me(3 times in last week). Also i have read that on ICS the stock browser can cauze the phone to freeze so now i am using my phone with chrome to see if it helps or not.

Acer-Blayn any more information about the auto shutdown?
I just got the Acer Cloudmobile. Today was the first day I really used it i had 7 shutdowns. (four of them where right after each other, the rest random).
I live in The Netherlands, hoping for a solution soon.
The update to 4.1.2 did not solve it, cause I had this installed all the time. I now reseted to factory settings.
Do you also need my product code?

I do not have any additional information. From the information I have, the latest update resolves shutdown issues. If you are still experiencing issues, I recommending contacting Acer technical support in your region.

5 days ago I bought acer S500, realy great phone, great design, but hawing same problem, the phone randomly is shutting down.
there were 2 days when I used phone less and it didnt turned off.
Is it a software or phone defect, should I return it back ?

Hi, I purchased this beautiful Acer S500 from Expansys free from carrier for my girlfriend less than a month ago and the device is great in many aspects.
But from two weeks till now is having problems, first when playing the device gets very hot and shuts down but worst is the Mobile Data connection that shuts down the phone in seconds when connected.
I've updated to 4.1 right in the first days and I think I've made an hard reset after but I'm not sure, so I will reset "again" tomorrow and see if it solves or not. Till than, someone please help me because my girlfriend really loves this device and I'm disapointed for giving her a "damaged" one.
Please ACER release a firmware update to solve this problem, this device deserves more atention.
