Space Bar problem on Aspire V5-571P

I bought a Aspire V5-571P for my wife to use for her Transcription business. It's a great computer except for 1 problem. She has to hit the space bar key hard to get it to work. When shes typing, it is a problem having to slow down or backspace to make sure there is a space. At times she has had to hit it multiple time for it to work. I have read where there was a problem with the keyboard on older models. Doe anyone else have this problem? Or know a fix for it?

I'm thinking of buying this computer but I've heard numerous problems with the spacebar.  Can you let me know when there is a design change that fixes the problem?

I have SPACEBAR NOT WORKING correctly when pressed also.  I bought a refurb. R7-571-6858.  Typing on it now ... pressing hard near the center of the SPACE BAR to make sure there's a space!  Pressing within 1" of the edge of either side of the ~4" long SPACEBAR leaves you with No Space on your screen.  You absolutely KNOW ACER knows ALL about this design and/or manufacturing defect or Quality issue that was allowed to proliferate.  If Idon't press hard then your text will look like this: Himy name is Robert andIhave boughtarefurbishedR7laptop andwhenpresingonthe spacebarwith normalpressureyour Resume'vforthat newjobwilllooklikethis! Goodluckgetting that job!  Hope Acer wil take responsibility and fix your Laptop!

I think you're missing the point.  The spacebar is garbage on every single Acer R series laptop.  Are you suggesting that every Acer owner send their laptop in for repair?  It is a design flaw, plain and simple.

Even though its been 2 years, this problem seems to be affecting many... including myself. I recieved this computer as a gift for repairing some issues at a friends house, but man, does this computer have her issues.

I own a V3-572, Model: Z5WAH, the touch screen model. I have noticed a great reduction in speed, in 2 weeks, and my space bar doesnt work anymore, forcing me to use the touchscreen. I feel like Acer has always been the best looking computers, but has had the, most problems. Like a hot wife who cant cook or clean, useless unless you're showing her off.

I have already tried reinstalling the driver, cleaning the laptop's keyboard with an airbottle, and its simple, it's the whole keyboard that's failing.

Acer, what I want to know is why keep making a computer with the same, malfunctioning items. You already charge expensive for the computer, why not install quality parts.

I've owned a Dell for 5 years using 1gb of DDR2 RAM, and that dinosaur might just be better than this sorry excuse for a laptop, using 8gb (capable of 16) of DDR3.

Sorry Acer, I do believe you've lost a customer.

Me and my wife bought acer laptops..due to this experience, these will be the last. Will not recommend acer to my company as service laptop. My service laptop not acer is so worn out and battery is no longer working but the keyboard words well for a 5year old laptop. This acer aspire's keyboard got broken after using it for 3 weeks. I did not mind at first as i normally use external keyboards. But during the time that i need to use the inboard keys...this is not acceptable. I will stop recommending acer. Even my acer tablet is slow compare to my samsung tablet of same specs. poor hardware.
