Morning All

I ahve a Revo RL70 that I want to use for a HTPC, I have only just reliased its runnign a Linux BIOS (Ver P01-A1L 12/08/2011).

I am trying to reflash this to a Windows BIOS but it keeps failing.

Tried P01.A2 and P11.A2 both fail.

P01.A2 fails with: ROM File ROMID is not compatible with existing BIOS ROMID.

Existing BIOS ROMID is A45SL016

ROMID for upgrade file is B66A1018

P11.A2 fails with: 3 - Error: ROM file size does not matcg existing BIOS size

Existing BIOS ROMID is A45SL016

ROMID for upgrade file is C76A1

I am running the upgrade using the AFUWINx64 utility in Windows 8 through an elevated command window.

Many thanks for any advice or assistance offered.

you can't cross flash BIOS versions since the Linux version doesn't have windows product key embeeded on the BIOS.

Thanks for the very fast response.

I don't need the Windows keys.

Is that the only difference between the BIOS's?

The reason I'm trying to do this is because I'm getting lots of stuttering on video playing back 1080P movies off the local drive via VLC.

I've update all drivers as best I can but still same issue.

Various searches online talked about issues with BIOS being wrong type.

i don't know if this, is the only difference on the 2 BIOS versions, simply it's the main difference and what prevents to cross flash it.
