Acer DLP PD523 projector - blurred image

Hi,

We have an Acer DLP PD523 projector that is connected to a

Windows laptop - a Lenovo ThinkPad T530 - with VGA.

Suddenly the projector projects a very blurred image.

On the PC we have tried with different resolutions and we have

tried with other cables but the problem remains.

in addition to this the projector often spends a long time to

find / connect to the VGA source.

Is it time to buy a new projector or do someone have a suggestion

for a solution?

Kind regards,

Martin

    mploug,

Depending on the age of the unit you can contact the Acer technical support and troubleshoot with them. Here are some things that come to mind that might help address it:

    1. How old is the bulb in it, how many hours does it have?
    2. Make sure the projection screen is between the required distance of 3.94 to 40 feet (1.2 to12.02 meters) from the projector.
    3. Adjust the focus ring on the projector lens.
    4. The VGA connection supports Analog RGB, YPbPr (480p/576p/720p/1080i), YCbCr (480i/576i) and RGBsync - did that get changed?

    Hi,

    Thank you.

We found that the solution for us is to set the resolution for both PC and projector

to 800 x 600. For some reason It does not work when we try to set two differnt resolutions

    - then the image from the projector gets blurred.

The projector is quite old but the bulb has been replaced within the past year.
