Answers

  • Hi,

Sorry that the unit has a Password, Hopfully its Windows login password,. Assuming to be win8,.

    1. Get to the Login Screen,.
    2. Restart the unit while holding the Shift Key,.
    (You'll get to Recovery options)
    3. Choose Troubleshoot
    4. Choose Reset (2nd Option)
    5. Next screen you'll see what would happen &
    6. select either Just remove my files(Approx time would be ~ 40Mins), Fully Wipe the drive(Approx time could be ~3-4 Hrs),. Cheers

Note: Charger needs to be connected & remove any other devices,..

I turn it on and a blue box comes up that says enter password

  • So If I'm not wrong its Harddisk Password,. Since in normal startup the unit will look for Bootable device(HDD).
Is it a Brand new unit you've purchased from store, Since any unit from Manufacturer will not have any passwords(BIOS, HDD, OS), if it was a used unit!
    1. Try to get the Password from the Previous Owner
    2. Replace the Harddisk(Assuming to be Harddisk Password),.

it was returned to the store and I agreed to purchase if I could get through the password

  • I Understand,. You've got 2 options to fix as suggested earlier.
1: Replacing HDD or 1: contact Acer(Chargeable service, around $110, if you are from US/Canada),. I would return the unit
