Woohoo!!!
Glad you're now fixed! Cory and JackE have been great, which is why I took a back seat, but I'm feeling your relief!!

linlux, I can only say that the support from all three of you has been fabulous.
Jack, I tried clicking Options as you suggest - I've been able to edit several posts that way, but Edit doesn't come up as an option on my original post. Dunno why! ![]()

Probably archived already. What you wrote is now set in concrete. You'll never be able to deny it now. 8^)

Hello Dave,
I just read the whole 8 pages because I have EXACTLY the same issue with the ACER 722 as you and I am having the same problems right now. So the problem is not unique. I must be the defective recovery utility provided by ACER and they are not really being upfront with this issue. To expect end users to figure out what to do on their own is lousy customer service.
Am I expected to buy an external CD rom reader as well as a bootable WIN 7 disk or template to fix something that should be automatic with the e-recovery utility? After reviewing the steps you took and after many hours trying to figure out what to do with this issue I just found an easier shortcut that allowed to me access the desktop without having to install any drivers. Thankk you!

Hello blilam,
Great that you found another way to solve the problem - could you summarize it on here?
Although Acer didn't directly help me fix this, Corey, one ofthe posters who gave me lots of help, is an Acer technician.
