Hello,
I have a problem (I think) on my acer aspire v5-122p. The notebook have 6gb ram installed but its usable only 1.44gb. I can feel the notebook performance is slow whenever im trying open an apps. I think it can work faster if the usable is more than that. Notebook comes with pre installed windows 8 64 bit. Do you have any idea how I can solve this problem?

It sounds as if a stick of RAM as either worked loose, or has failed.

If I recall correctly, I don't think your laptop has a removable RAM cover - I think you need to remove the entire base. So if you're not comfortable to do this, take it to your local PC store who can check this out for you.

If you are happy to do this, check that all is well with the RAM sticks. Obviously, if you're still covered by warranty, contact support, as removing the cover will invalidate it.

I am having the same problem.

I have RAM of 2 GB integrated in the motherboard and additional 2GB installed. But my system shows Usuable 1.44 GB.

My system is **bleep** slow. I have asked the Acer Guys to visit to solve the problem. But after insoection , they said they are also helpless, asked me to search on net.

Please help.. if anyone of you has resolved such problem.
