Replacement batteries for Acer Aspire v17 with longer life?

Hello, I just purchased an Acer Aspire v17 nitro black edition notebook and while all specs look amazing, there is one that is not. The battery is only a 3 cell Li-ion battery with "up to 4 hours". This wouldn't really be a problem, if I didn't use it for work/school and could have it plugged in all the time. For this reason I am looking to purchase a replacement battery with more cells so that it has a longer battery run time but google searches have yielded no results. Does anyone know of a larger battery for this laptop? I have just ordered this laptop and it is still on it's way to be delivered so I do not have the SNID to talk with an Acer specialist and the "answers by acer" does not help whatsoever. Are all acer batteries interchangeable? Are at least all acer aspire batteries interchangeable? Or am I kind of out of luck with upgradeing this battery? Thanks for all help!

    Hi Ermahgerd,

Unfortunately, it would take a specific battery and I can't tell if if there is an upgrade available. You could contact our Acer store @ http://store.acer.com and they should be able to tell you what is available.

    Hope this helps,

Hate to tell you, but this loptop does not have any apparent way to replace this battery without opening the laptop.  I usually travel with a spare battery for my east-west coast travel.  While I have not had a chance to run mine on battery for any length of time, but for the short amount that I have, it seems it goes fast.  Even with the power setting turned down on battery power, it does not last long enough to fly from Phila to LA.   This is a good desktop replacement, but as a travel companion, it's too big for my 17" backpack, probably too big to use if you have a seat infront of you or if your flight it too long.

THere are external power sources that you can use to extend the run time, but they are over $400.

    Hope this helps.
