A completely black screen does not necessarily indicate a BIOS issue.  It could very well be a power issue or a screen issue.

Do any lights on the system appear when you attempt to power the unit?

Have you attempted to power the unit from only battery or only AC adapter?

Hi Tommy, i'm new here but have a very old problem as noonoos, the screen doesn't light up but i get one blue light on the bottom left corner of the laptop. Its the one with the light bulb icon. The fan runs for like 5 seconds then stops. The laptop will stay in that condition till i hard shut down it. Another thing, the laptop does this on battery power but not on AC, i also noted that it doesnt charge when i plug it in. I've tried powering it up with the ac power alone (battery out) but it doesn't turn on. It only turns on when on battery power. I've suspected the bios, when i turn it on with the Fn +Esc keys pressed that blue led will flash..indicating that it's ready for flash mode right? Please suggest best possible solution to above mentioned problem. Thanks.

Again, this does not sound like a BIOS issue, but a power issue.  You've already confirmed that you have issues with power.

We would suggest contacting technical support in your region for further assistance with this issue.

    Hi

I too am facing the same issue, but in my case I am sure that its the Bios causing this, since before updated the Bios driver from V2.11 to V2.22 the system was working fine, but after the update it doesn't boot at all , I just get a black screen (No initial Acer Logo or any boot screen) while the blue light at the corner of the laptop light up.

I need to know how do I revert to my previous Bios Driver i.e. V 2.11, that can be achieved via flashing.

    Please advice.

    Thanks

    Dhroopy

You updated BIOS and now cannot boot, as you state above.  This is a completely different issue.

However, the solution is the same.  You need to contact support.
