How do I know the correct part number for the systemboard

I have a 14.8v battery in this unit and googling the part # produces ads for batteries that are 11.1 volts. The Ac supply is 19.5 volts and tests OK , when I plug it into the power board the voltage stays at 19.47 volts, but when I plug the power board onto the system board the voltage drops to around 3.5 volts with a fluctuation of the voltage measured on the connections between the actual plug and the circuit board. I am assuming the system board is shorted somewhere and needs to be replaced, but don't know how to be sure I am ordering the correct direct replacement board. Can anyone help me figure out what to order based on the identification tags attached to the board??

    Actually, the Acer support website was confusing and provided no help for any machines that are out of warranty. Of course if you want to pay they will help. I went out to the internet and found Skyline Engineering, who resopnded to my email within 24 hours with the answer I was looking for :

    Greetings;

    I have a dilemma, my acer laptop took a dive and I am having a rather hard time figuring out which model of system board to purchase. The machine is an Acer Aspire 3860 and apparently there a few different versions of this main board. When I goggled the battery part number (4UR18650Y-QC271) I get listings for 11.1 volt batteries until the cows come home, but this battery is a 14.8 volt 200mAh rating  according to the label. Anyways the battery does not seem to be the problem, the AC adapter tests to 19.5 volts which is correct but when I plug it into the DC power plug the voltage drops to around 3 volts, unplug the power adapter board from the main board and the 19.5 volts comes back. Tried this with two AC adapters and some other troubleshooting methods with the end result being that something seems to be shorted on the main board, now for the fun part.

    I’m finding a lot of main boards out there, but not sure what to order, I am looking for a direct replacement to avoid having any more hassles upon re assembling the machine. I have pictures of all the tags I can find attached, If you can decipher the numbers on one of them and give me an idea of what version board to purchase that would really be appreciated.

    Joe,  here is the link for the board you need.  It will be an exact replacement.

    A system part number would be required in order to assist you.

    If you have the serial number or SNID, your best option would be to contact technical support for assistance.
