I brought back Turbo boost (had it off for heat reasons), and did not use cooling pad this time, max temp reached during gaming (BF3 high settings and native resolution for stress testing): 82C. Which is wonderful. Because earlier it meant shutdown, now I don't even get throttling!
I'm even considering slight GPU overclock now...
Current idle temp: 30C.

Ok, It happens to be that I have a 5750g here; I disabled the GPU and CPU underclocking (as described in this thread several times) and did a quick 30 minute gaming test with Minecraft - Very stable FPS (59 to 60 with the FPS locked to 60) with even better graphic settings. Before I was still getting framedrops to about 40 regularly. Againg, I didn't bother with any temperature tools, but since I have my left hand almost directly over the GPU when gaming, I could feel that it was significantly cooler. I also don't mind the noise since I play with a headset.
In conclusion: Thank you Acer-Rolf, this tool is a huge improvement for my gaming experience!
Now, I'm going to test video editing of an HD multicamera project with an external monitor attached, to see if this tool also improves my performance there.
Maybe someone could test even overclocking the GPU, since as far as I understand it, it's underclocked to about half of it's actual performance per default. I might do so too, but I don't have time right now.
And again, I feel really sorry for those of you with different models -.-

Rolf, first of all thank you for your hard work in order to deliver this solution for us, however this still doesnt help on people with 5755g notebook. The two models are almost completely identical, they even share the same BIOS.
So its just pretty disappointing that people cant even install it, while knowing it may still work.
I am pretty sure this topick will be even more on fire unless its completely solved.

Thank you very much Rolf! My 5750g now cold. The utility works well even on windows 8.1. But it would be so governed speed bios! Because I can not forget to run the utility. Is a new BIOS is it so difficult? But thank you, and on this one!

I apologize for spelling errors (Google Translate).
I have an Acer Aspire V3-571G laptop. This model of the laptop has same problems with the fan. Many people at other forums to be indignant concerning it, it is a problem concerned all owners of this model of the laptop. Why Acer couldn't eliminate at once this problem, really it is so difficult for you? Because of it I test an array of problems. It was possible to let out long ago BIOS updating which eliminates this problem. Acer very much disappointed me with the support and service. Don't ignore the complaint. Please, make the program for control of the fan and for this model of the laptop.

Hi!!
Finally this tool, and it works! CPU temp is way down now....THANKS!!!
Im sorry for the other laptop models, you have to adapt the tool soon for the other people, so we all can enjoy it. Or better release the source code so it can be ported to other operating systems.
Best!

But summing it up: the laptop simply overheats after 5 minutes gaming and the fan not spin at all.
Everything which written there about the 5750g/5755g is true.
Except the 5750g got a fan controll program which seems solved the issue but it's not work on the 5755g. They use the same bios so I don't understand why.
Please acer make the tool working on our 5755g... we need it VERY much!
