Same here for me. I did a thorough disassembly 2 days ago along with paste replacement (Arctic Silver 5) and vacuum cleaning the heatsink (with poor results). I ran a stress test yesterday (100% CPU, 100% GPU) and what?
93+ degrees on the GPU and 95 on the CPU (that's when the throttling kicked in). So no effect at all. Needless to say, the fan was spinning like it didn't give a single ... about it.
Acer's fan tool is a must in my case. ![]()

To add to my post a long way back, my computer is still working fine. In short, I cleaned the fan and heat sink, changed thermal paste (to a paste that was just lying around, probably 10 years old), and lubed up the fan. Before, I had all the same problems as everyone else here. Now, I have temps between 45 - 50 degrees in idle, and I don't get any throttling or exessive temperatures when gaming. Disassembling the whole fan (pulling the blades from the plastic that screws into the heat sink) and lubing the whole thing up was what did the trick for me. I did also not remove any plastic covers or sheets from the CPU or GPU, so they are still there.
It's been a month now, and everything works perfectly!

I just used a random paste which I got for a random low price cpu fan for a desktop computer.
Of course it's not changed to fan spinning at all, a software or newer bios for good fan controll is still needed...

I've been following this topick as a guest visitor since it has been started and I am pretty excited about the upcoming solution. Hope it's gonna solve our problems with the fan.

Me too.

Since someone asked, I also used thermal paste from Arctic Silver. Judging from their five sites of detailed instructions, they seem to really know what it takes to keep a CPU cool. It was rather pricy too...

Hi
I have the same proglems with the cpu temp and the fan is on low speed
, we need an app or something to put the fan to work at maximum speed , or just put in bios other configurations for the fan to work at maximum speed when the cpu is reaching over 60 C
Problem solved and we just update our bios :d
I have a acer aspire 5750g ... cpu i5 2450m-2500Mhz turbo bust 3.100MHz, 4 GB ram, video: nvidia geforce 540m 2 GB
Just saying ![]()
