I have been watching this thread basicaly since it started and I am SO HAPPY someone steped up and is helping us.
I cant wait for something to help us. And if there is a temporary solution I am ok with the fan running at 100% all the time,it became so frustrating.
And I wanted to say you are awesome for doing something!

I can hardly wait. I have a laptop that has to be propped up on the fan-side so that it gets enough air not to overheat. If i have it placed normally the temps go into the red on AIDA64 and a shutdown is not far behind. This is a very sad situation for a 2 year old laptop.
Looking forward to the solution and I sincerely hope it is an effective one which helps us all.

Hello again guys,
So I promised to post at the start of this week, and it's friday already. Sorry for that.
Allow me to explain where we are now, and why the slight delay:
After several weeks of testing and gathering information from you all, this is what we found out:
- Acer has verified the testing of the AS5750G and its ability to run according to specification in its default settings.
- Acer has provided a fan control-tool that can be manually switched to ‘Full On’ by the user to increase the fan speed. This tool should improve your experience and decrease the amount of throttling that occurs when gaming or stressing your CPU otherwise.
I have been advised that this will only work on the default Acer OEM operating system.
Now, the reason I have been delaying this post, is because uploading the file to a publicly accessable spot is taking some time. I know many of you guys will now want to scream 'use any random filesharing program', but it's not that simple. We don't just drop this tool anywhere on the internet, so I have to get it uploaded to an Acer FTP. Unfortunately, it takes a bit more time going through the approval-mill.
So the tool is there, I have already tested myself and personally found it an improvement. I am just getting it all set up for you guys to be able to download it and give it a try.
So far, that's the info I can give you. When the upload has been completed and you can all access the file, I will post again.

Firstly, I'd like to thank you Rolf for taking the time to act on behalf of us all on this very serious issue. I hope you guys consider the 5742G a similar enough machine to make this fan work for all machines having this problem.
Secondly, I'm wondering if there will be additional research leading towards an answer and solution to the fact that this 'fan' issue only seems to happen sometime after the laptops have been used for gaming for an extended period of time (judging from blog posts around the net - about 6 - 12 months). What is it that happens at this time in the hardware/software to bring about this issue, and what steps will Acer take to eliminate this problem, to encourage people to want to buy Acer laptops in the future (other than handing us a manual 'fan on full' button)?
I very much appreciate this effort but I sincerely hope to get an anwer to that question after all the frustration and time invested into troubleshooting this problem.

Rolf, I would like to express my gratitute for taking serious action regarding this issue. It's very much relieving to hear that you convinced Acer to actually do something about it, even if it's been a couple of years already.
There's just one thing that keeps me curious:

What does that actually mean?

It's actually means they still not want to accept the truth that they made a very big mistake with this cooling system and fan controlling... ![]()
Playing minecraft with 95 degree and dropping fps in a low graphics game is totally how this specification should work... ![]()
But turn off my negativ attitude: Thank you Rolf to tring do something about this situation. I hope this tool will help us. ![]()
