Brand new notebook super slow!

I got last month the aspire E1, 750gb 6gb RAM.

The first week worked fine; by the third week the internet was super slow, it took sometimes over a minute toopen a page. I thought it was the internet but my boyfriend's Mac worked fine online. Now even Word takes foprever to open, if I need to look something up and switch back to Word, there's at least a minute wait.

I have not added pictures or docs on my notebook, everything is on flash drive, and I barely downloaded any program (Itunes, Word, etc). I am currently removing McAffee security system because it keeps popping up windows over and over telling me of "dangerous pages" .

I read on another website that it could be the battery power option instead of default, but I don't know what that means.

    hi..

Sincce this is new computer, there would be may updates that have to be installed on your computer.

You may check the BIOS version that is currently installed in your computer.

Also, check the wireless driver version.

If any help is needed, post back, and I'll see what I can do to help you resolve this issue!

It is slightly faster now that I removed the McAfee, but not as fast as it should be.

Where do I check for the BIOS version? Should I check for updates for it?

And where do I check the wireless driver version?

    hi...

It would be more helpful  if you provide the exact model number of your computer.

To check BIOS version, press the Windows key + X, select Run, and then type msinfo32 and hit the Enter key.
In the System Information window, click System Summary and locate your current BIOS Version/Date to the right.

To check the network adapter please follow the below steps.
Press the Windows + X keys, and select Device Manager from the list.
Click + Network Adapters to expand the section.
    The adapter would be listed.

Hi, thanks for the link, but it still shows the same BIOS version. I'll try to search online for that version to download.

There is no link on your answer for the wireless driver though.

    Hi...

You need to download and install the BIOS update.

After downloading open BIOS_Acer_2.09_A_A.zip file, then open BIOS_Acer_2.09_Windows and run the ZQK_209 application file to install the BIOS update. Do not forgot to plug in the AC adapter while installing BIOS update.

Acer has not released any  new updated driver for wireless.
