Aspire V5-122p only showing 1.44GB usable RAM after 8GB RAM upgrade.

I installed this 8GB RAM chip in my Asipire V5-122p: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820178656

Now it is only showing that I have 1.44GB of "usable" ram, although it also shows that 10GB (total) is installed.  It was doing this prior to upgrading to Windows 8.1, but I have since upgraded and nothing has changed.

Is there some BIOS setting I need to tweak to get it to actually use that full 10GB of RAM?

Kindly Check if you are using 32 bit Operating System.

If its so kindly change to 64 bit to use your full RAM.

I checked last night and it is definitely running the 64 bit version of Windows 8.1.  It is also now fully updated as well.

About the updates, last night it showed that I had 4 important updates to install so I went ahead and installed them.  When the laptop restarted following the updates, I checked the PC Info and it is no longer showing that the 8GB stick is even installed now.  It just says 1.44GB RAM, not 8GB (1.44 usable) RAM.

    Any other ideas?

    t's this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820178656

Yesterday I ran across a thread somewhere that said only 1.35V (low voltage) RAM was compatible.  I wasn't aware of that when I bought the RAM, but I'm pretty sure that is the problem at this point since the one I have is 1.5V.

    Do you agree?
