Dear all,

Before you send in your Laptop, please make sure that 

1. Format and reinstall windows 8.1 which can do from REMOVE EVERTHING AND REINSTALL WINDOWS

2. Update 3 related drivers ( I/O, Chipset & Touchpad)

3. If you've done everything but touchpad still freezing, you send in and tell them you've done the software part, left ACER service center to do the HARDWARE part, than this will save LOTS of TIME, they can do the job easily

Do this:

install windows 8.1 with UEFI boot and install first (this is different for other laptops) the IO driver then the Chipset and after this the Synapsis driver. It works like a charm. For people having problems with installing in UEFi:

Download RUFUS http://rufus.akeo.ie/

Chose for UEFI only option with FAT 32. Let Rufus do it's magic and your UEFI boot on USB is ready.

UEFI is a must doesnt work with legacy mode.

my comp is still on the way to service - since Fri,

they should receive it tomorrow

hopefylly they fix it and return it by Fri next week I really need it after Nov 10th

Uncheck any advanced boxes in Control Panel's mouse/touchpad controls, that Power Management can allow the computer to shut off this device(s), to save power.

Windows reinstall did not help me, and under Ubuntu Linux same problem.

I just received my comp back from service - was gone for 1 week exactly - and now works perfect - this is HARDWARE problem not software - nothing you can really do about it

Thank you. Now I have not so much time, becouse I need It for work. But now I realize that must do it soon.

I can imagine, that was my exact problem too, clear it all from computer on which you're working for at least 4 weeks - lots of files, programs, back up of course.

And, in my case, 7 days waiting, they actually did it in 1 day but transport took other days

and you have to work on different computer for a week than move it all to the fixed one ...

lots of fusssssss...

but it's back and working properly now,

next time before I decide about buying computer i'll check forums first

Thank for reply. I tried several models from another company, but every, even MacBook Air was uncomfortable for my eyes. Screen on this model make me happy. So I decide stop on this model.
