I bought one at Best Buy and have been reading the threads here how to get it to be its best. I did run into the wifi issue - speeds next to the router were 25Mb but 30 feet away they dropped to 1 Mb. I put in a USB wifi card from Panda and now I'm getting normal speeds. I have a few questions in general I was hoping could be answered:
1) Even with increased speeds through the USB wifi, the computer seems to hesitate when opening browser windows, going to a new webpage, loading a Youtube video. It's kind of like "Is it going to make it?" and then it does make it. It just hangs for a few seconds, sometimes longer. Is this a processor issue? Software issue?
2) I have a regular stylus I used with an old iPad. The screen reacts to it fine for browsing. Will the Acer/Sony stylus give me a better level of preformance / higher sensitivity?
3) The memory it came with is 8mb. Is that 2x4mb or 1x8mb, with an empty slot? I'd like to max out the machine.
4) Will going to an SSD speed up internet interraction?
Thanks for any answers!

Absolutely, positively. You will never want to use the rubber tipped stylus again.

This thread will help. It can go up to 16GB.
4) Will going to an SSD speed up internet interraction?
Most likely not. Try this fix first.

Also, if you look at the first link, the wifi card is easy to replace for $20.

If you want to save some money on the Active digitizer stylus, you can buy the HTC one
http://www.amazon.com/HTC-Scribe-Digital-Flyer-Tab
It is the exact same NTrig pen as the Acer and works great on the R7, but $30 cheaper ![]()
