Hi everyone, I got Acer Aspire V5 531 touch screen and the laptop disconnects from my wifi like every 5min showing limited network, I tought it was the computer and i returned it to The Source where I got it and it was replaced with the same model of laptop but on geting home I connected to the internent and it was still showing network disconnected like d one I returned, I latter went online to find solution for the laptop because i really like it then I installedthe new driver 10.0.0 225 but the problem remained the same after installation. I was worried and desided to play around the settings of my laptop THERE I FOUND SOLUTION and realised there is no problem with the driver that comes with the latop intially but the network driver is configured to turn itself off after few minuits to save battery life. this can also work for u try it , if u are using window 8, go to SETTINGS-----DEVICE MANAGER-------NETWORK ADAPTOR---- (Qualcomm Atheros Communications) yours could be different depending on your driver version---------POWER MANAGEMENT-------- uncheck the box which says "alow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
My laptop as been working perfectly after I turned the setting off, I hope it works for u and pls let others know if i works.

I have the same issue as Sp1k3 but on Win8. Also have installed latested drivers from acer support. I can't find bluetooth options in device manager or turn the bt on with the acer fast line. It disables after close the program. In win8 settings option to turn the bt on is faded so i cannot click on it.. Reinstalling the drivers didn't help..Anyone?

I'm having same issue. My model is Aspire E1-571. Acer support site is useless & entirely unfriendly .

Guys... i too had this same issue. if anyone uses the live update tool within there laptop it says there is a 10.0.0.218 (notice the 218 compared to the 217 acer used to have). so i installed that and it must have been nearly 2 weeks now and i have not had the "limited connection" once yet.
I even use this latop to bridge the wireless and ethernet for xbox and never once since this 218 upate (which interesting has never appeared on acer support site, but appears using acer live uptate tool) has it done it. most of the times just a change of tab within explorer/chrome etc was when i knew it was about to happen but even that has not happened as of yet.
Just a side note bluetooth is disabled as i just switch on when needed.
I wont be updating to the 225 drivers just wish i knew how to backup these 218?
Good luck guys and remember just run the live update tool after a fresh install and install the 218 drivers forget the acer ones on support site. bug fixed ![]()
EDIT
>>> also this update through the acer live update is 30+mb just for wifi, were as acer seems to want to install the whole bluetooth and wireless package some 200+mb. My bluetooth drivers are stock ones. acer live update had 2 updates for me one for graphics and one for wifi only NOT bluetooth...
EDIT2
>> also there in a new bios out version 2.15 (not for upgrades) although what has been changed is unknown. Ive updated mine just now (stock 2.11). ive only just changed over 5 mins ago.
Cheers
