Yay! That fixed the problem I was having! Now I don't have to send it in!

Went to Best Buy a couple weeks ago. All the screws were already tight, which fixed the problem the first time around. I was frustrated to hear that the screws were tight and the power problem resumed. The Geek Squad took apart my computer, only to find nothing wrong with it. They removed the battery and it's components, and proceeded to put everything back together. They said they couldn't find anything wrong. However, I have had absolutely no issues since they took it apart and put it back together. They believe that it could have been that some of the pieces holding the battery in place (internally, not just the external screws) could have been loose. But whatever it was, it's fixed now.

Same problem, if on battery and I pick it up it shuts off. Happened after a couple weeks of ownership. Very light use, just use at home around the house.
This is my second R7 - not at all impressed with this computer or the service I have recieved thus far from Acer. Tired of being talked to like an idiot and doing computer retarts and reboots.

Hi,
what exact kind of screw driver do I need to tighten these screws? And how can I measure the torx?
Thanks!

Torx is just a specific type of screw and screw driver. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torx
Specifically, the R7 screws that need to be tightened use a Torx #8 screwdriver.

A slightly left-field suggestion, admittedly, but could you try... tightening all of them? ![]()
