Hello
My Crystal Eye 1.3m onboard camera seems faulty. Its been working on and off for a while and was ok last week when I used it but today I cannot get it to work on Skype or on the Cyrstal Eye Webcam software
On Skype and facebook (which uses Skype) it just says webcam not available. When I open the Crystal Eye software sometimes I get an image either in black and white or sometimes colour but it just freezes. If you go into settings it flashes up the image on and off while the computer makes that noise like a USB device is constantly being plugged and then unplugged. Strangely when not using the cam and just at random times I get this noise every now and again which can go on for ages.
I have tried removing the device in device manager and restarting to enable it again. I have downloaded all the webcam software off the Acer site and re-installed it.
Nothing seems to work. I am wondering if I have a hardware fault.
The Laptop is about 2-3 years old and is Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
Any ideas?

When you look in Device Manager, do you see any red X or yellow ! marks?
If you reloaded the software and drivers and it still isn't working, the problem could definitely be hardware related. You can try completely restoring the computer using eRecovery and if that does not fix it, the problem is definitely with the hardware and you would require repair. If this is the case, you would need to contact your local technical support to inquire about service options.
