Hard drive went bad purchased a new hard drive. Purchased Recovery media from Acer. Trying to recover unit. Starts out with System disc just fine then it will ask for Recovery disc 1, gets to 39% and just hangs I let the unit sit for 24 hrs ( started at 7am on 7/2/2014 and at 7AM 7/3/2013 still at the same spot. Hasn't asked for a 2nd disc yet. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Starting to wonder if the disc are bad.

The media you purchased may need to be replaced as it should not hang. The only other thing that would cause that is a bad sector on the new hard drive. I would turn the computer off eject the media then try the recovery process again.
If the problem is still persisting, I would suggest getting replacement media and see if that resolves the issue. If not, then it may be the hard drive or another hardware issue with the computer.
