What I've narrowed it do to is the monitor is going into sleep mode and my Macbook Pro is trying to connect to the monitor when using a thunderbolt dock. So what I get is a flickering macbook screen as the dock recognizes teh monitor and then disconnects. I would just like to note that this is the third dock (two different brands) that this has happened on, AND three different Macbooks and OSX versions. As well this is happening on two different Macbook/monitor combos – one at work and one at home. So it's def the monitor that's the common denominator.

I've discovered that through removing the TB cable from my laptop, and powering off the monitor and reconnecting the cable and then starting up the monitor it connects.

Any ideas on how to resolve this problem? Is there a way to turn off power saving on the monitior? I don't see anything.
