Has anyone successfully installed a bootable SSD drive in the half-height miniPCIe slot internal to an Acer Aspire XC-704G?  After some study of the matter after examining my computer, my tech person claimed that an M.2 2242 (22 mm by 42 mm form factor) SSD should work, but the miniPCIe on the slot in question is "keyed" differently than any others I have seen.

Which chipset does the XC-704G's motherboard use?  Which bios is installed?

If an SSD doesn't go in that slot, what card of any kind works with that slot.  I saw a video of an XC-704G owner opening the case where he had a WLAN card, but I couldn't get the model number.

    Hello,

This M.2 slot is only for a Wlan board: NGFFE1 - M.2 Key E WLAN socket

Here are the original Wlan boards:

Will this system and its BIOS support a bootable SSD in the non-mini PCIe slot?
