So my computer died and I deemed it better to get a replacement motherboard, got me thinking why not upgrade all of can, found a stronger heat sink and more ram and a usb 3.0 audio daughter board ect. But the processor needs to be recognized by the bios and I don't know which ones are except the original 2430m I have in it, any chart or anything to help me out?

    Hello,

If you already own the new motherboard, you'll found a white sticker near the memory slots. There is a string of characters under the bar code. Could you give me the first ten characters?

    Hi,
Yes, you can upgrade to i7-2620m, i7-2630QM or i7-2720QM, these are mentioned in Laurent-14's post above.

    Hi,
I think the motherboard is same for 4752 and 4755, anyway, your model has come with these CPUs as well(Snip).

You can put most of the other 2nd gen processors in, though be aware of the power requirements, you'll overheat if you use one with too much power draw. So the M and QM lines, I believe the fastest will be the i7-2820QM, though that runs 10W higher (45W) in power draw than the stock processor (35W). The extra 30% of draw will speed up battery discharge a bit and run a bit hotter, though likely is still OK.

Thankyou Billsey for the information above, i have also 4752 Acer Aspire i3-2330M, i will upragade it base on the explanation above, is it also possible to change the HDD to a new one with bigger capacity (original 500 GB) and add the SSD for primary Drive and also change or add the VGA Card

If i changed my processor to  i7-2820QM, is the Max RAM for my original ACER ASPIRE 4752 Motherboard can increase also more than 8GB?

8GB ram is the maximum supported with that chipset. Best is to change the existing HDD with a big SSD instead. That will make a huge difference in speed. You can't put two drives inside, but you could repurpose the current HDD as a USB drive for backups or offline storage. You can't change the video, there are no slots in the laptop for anything other than what's on the motherboard.

    Dear All,

Do i need to update my BIOS for Acer Aspire 4752 Core i3-2330M (still original version) before installing the higher processor (Core i7 with the TDP of 45W).

I don't believe so. Be aware that the jump from the existing 35W processor to a 45W will make it easier to overheat. The i7-2620M and i7-2640M won't have that issue because they are also 35W like your i3-2330M.

Thank you billsey,  right now it’s been upgraded to i7-2720QM, RAM to 8GB, and add SSD for the prime storage, BIOS not updated and performance increasing so much amazingly, i clean the fan and change the thermal paste for the overclocker thermal paste and it works to reduce the heat, however the battery is drawn so fast like the above explanation before. Google chrome become black screen after that and solved by disabling GPU and turn off the hardware acceleration on google chrome setting after that.
