Always prompted to run ETDCtrl.exe at login

I recently updated the touchpad driver on my Asus Aspire One 725 (Windows 7  x64), and now I get prompted to run ETDCtrl.exe every time I login. I always choose the option to run it, but it still prompts me to run it again the next time I log in. Any idea how I can stop this?

    itm,

I would suggest performing a system restore to before this issue occurred and work forward from there. Is there a reason you updated the drivers, or just for GP (general purposes)?

Actually I had just done a system restore, and updated the drivers because CPU was running at 90-100% for several minutes at a time, even though no apps were running and Task Manager didn't list any processes using significant CPU. At that point I had only installed MS Office, AVG Antivirus (which was not scanning and which I had disabled), Chrome and Firefox (neither of which were running or in memory).
