ACER ASPIRE 5532 - Twins with Hardware Differences

I have two:

Machine A is S/N [edited for privacy]

Machine B is S/N [edited for privacy]

I cloned the HDD from machine A and installed it to machine B but it doesn't boot.

I then took the HDD from machine A and installed it to machine B and it also doesn't boot.

The HDD is a multi-boot, Win7, WinXP

Each time, the HDD moves past the boot-select but as it loads drivers it fails. This tells me there is a hardware difference between these two machines. How do I get the hardware drivers I need to repair the image?

I went back to the BIOS of both machines and compared settings. These have a SATA HDD connector but you select an interface. I set the second to match the first and Voila, it worked. Now I have to see why the sound doesn't work.
