Hi all, first of all i'd like to thank you, that you read my message, and waisting your time...

My problem is very simple, but not specialist in my country can't say what the problems is.

When i purshased my pc there were 1.00 bios version, then i tryed to upgrade to the lastest 1.30.

About three months later:

when i turn on computer, cooler spins in same possition, i think about 60% RPM ( i can't see my cooler and RPM settings on SpeedFan ant other programs), about 2 minutes permament turning off, and thats all.

Any ideas, how could i fix that problem? maybe Bios downgrade?

Thank You!

can you be more specific? the coolingfan working 2 min and that it even you let the pc on?

if that the solution is simple.

1.clean the fan and the cooling sistem from inside!!! disassembling you pc, PUT ON PROCESOR and GPU NEW thermal grease

1".check the electrical conection to be fit in place and with a multimeter check if you have a constant amount of voltage(my model is on 3v) if this is ok go to next step if not repair/replace cooling fan or mb(motherboard)

    2.assembling back your "pretious"

3.download from acer latest bios version according to your model and os (by the way is aspire 5742G or travelmate 5742G?)

4.take 1gb usb stick (or other smaller but minimum 512mb) format with FAT (JUST FAT !!)

5.Download the Crysis disc one of the links: Download Crysis-Disk-www.acerfans.ru.exe or download Acer Crysis Disk.

6.From the archives of the BIOS, extract  BIOS file. It has about 512kb, 1Mb or 2Mb and has the extension .WPH, .ROM, .BIN, .FD or perhaps both.

7.Copy it to the folder with the unpacked archive of Crysis_Disk. In that folder there should be no folders. Only files.

8.Rename the file from the BIOS to BIOS.WPH

    9.Insert a stick in the USB-port

10.In the folder with the unpacked archive of Crysis_Disk run the file WINCRIS.EXE with administrator privilage

11.follow the instructions and at the end in usb must be some files and BIOS.WPH NOT ANY FOLDER DO NOT COPY ANYTHING let crisis do the job !

12.Remove the laptop battery and disconnect it from the network. Connect the USB flash drive to your laptop, hold down the Fn button and simultaneously Esc,(release after 15-20 seconds only after you power on the laptop not now) reconnect the AC power and hold Fn and Esc and now press the power button power on the laptop. To begin the recovery process (it goes with a black screen), it can be determined by the indicator readout on a USB-flash drive. The news of the recovery process lasts from 4 to 6 minutes., At the end of the notebook automatically reboots.

    1. That's all. Should work!
