I am having problems with my laptop. I did a fresh install of Windows 10 and can not get the touch pad to be seen in device manager. I can attach a mouse, and it will show, but when unplugged the pointer goes away and the mouse disappears from device manager. I also can not seem to get any sound from the speakers at all. I downloaded the drivers to no avail.

Thanks for your support.

have you ticked the View hidden devices under View tab on Device manager?

check if any yellow exclamation mark is visible.

about audio, do you have the speaker icon the the bottom right of your screen?

Hello Ironfly, I am not sure whrer the (ticked the View hidden devices under View tab on Device manager) is located. Under the mouse I only see the below.

    HID\VID_3938&PID_1032&REV_0203&MI_01&Col01

    HID\VID_3938&PID_1032&MI_01&Col01

    HID\VID_3938&UP:0001_U:0002

    HID_DEVICE_SYSTEM_MOUSE

    HID_DEVICE_UP:0001_U:0002

    HID_DEVICE

I do see the speaker. It shows as a realtek high def audio. I can bluetooth a headset and hear sound.

about the touchpad, i don't ideas why it's not recognised.

about the realtek speakers, are they set as the default playback device?

where did you get the windows 10 installation media?

IIronfly, I am not sure if or where the speakers are located, I can not find speaker vents on the laptop anywhere, and watching the speakers, I see that there is sound coming through the card, but can not hear anything.

So you have no idea on the touch pad?

on Device manager, under Sound and game controllers, do you have Realtek only or something else?

It is there...I downloaded it from the microsoft website. The laptop had Windows 10 on it, I just reimiged it to Linux, but was having problems with the sound as well.

if it has sound issues on Linux too, probably there's an hardware issue.

by the way, try to right click the High definition Audio device from Device manager and choose to uninstall it, then reboot.
