Having problems shutting down my laptop. Only way to totally close down is using the button on the key board. Using any other method it automatically goes into sleep mode. Anyone have the same problem?
Another possible problem involves "windows 10 Recovery options".
I have tried to reset but when I try I am given the options " troubleshoot or turn off the computer" the former gives the options to "reset pc or see advanced options" this then offers the only option UEFI Firmware settings-change settings in UEFI firmware. Am I missing something?
If I try the same through the Acer Care Center Recovery Management -Reset PC - option keep files -response " could not find recovery environment. Insert windows installation or recovery media & restart pc with media." Is this right?
"Having problems shutting down my laptop. Only way to totally close down is using the button on the key board. Using any other method it automatically goes into sleep mode."
There is a 'shutdown' command, C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SHUTDOWN.EXE which should work.
and there are other possibilities.
Not only am I in a different timezone, but actually a different planet. Sometimes my logic and my mouth fail to connect with my brain. So what I type makes sense to me and that's all that 's important.
Have tried your suggestion but unfortunatley hasn't worked. Close lid after about 10 mins & it's back on standby/sleep. Even tried using the Acer Power Button App to shut down & it automatically goes to standby/sleep
(Went to Power Options >Advanced Settings>Power Buttond & Lid > Power Button Action> changed sleep to shut down.)
Thanks for your suggestion any other ideas would be apprieciated.
