Last week I bought a 16gig flash drive for use as my recovery. I was told a 16gig would do the job. When I plugged it in, it showed 14.5 gig free. I guess my question now is, being 14.5gig free, would it still work as my recovery?

Thanks

    Hey cooljoe,

I'm 99% certain you won't run into any issues. The way drive sizes are marketed vs the way an operating system reads them (basically 1kb = 1000b vs 1024b) can lead to the difference.

Here's an article we have created on the creation of recovery media if it helps: http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/26287

    Thanks,

    Hi Cory,

Right before I started the recovery operation to my flash drive, It did tell me that I would need 16gig. Thats when I aborted the operation.  So, your saying I should be ok? The way I see it, even if there isnt enough to finish, I am sure a screen will popup and it wont finish.

Yes, I'm 99% certain that it will finish without issue and I'm 100% sure if it has to abort it will tell you if there is an issue.

    I don't expect any problems.
