I was forced to recover from my partition. It was and still is stuck trying to install office. The recovery had loaded windows 7 and other programs before getting stuck. I was able to create a non administrative user and open windows download items and use computer. If I sign in as admin. it goes back to trying to load Office unless I enter in safe mode. Can I delete / format the recovery portion so this goes away? I do not need Office. I had made recovery discs and attempted to recover from them to no avail. Thank you for any help.

Hi Kiowaman
From what you describe, you have the blue bar at the bottom of your screen trying to load Microsoft Office (but failing)? You do not need to delete your recovery partition to remove it:
1. Start up in Safe mode. Type "MSCONFIG" in the start menu search box & click the result.
2. Click the Startup tab and look for the entry named AlaunchX. Uncheck the entry then click Apply/OK. Restart your computer as normal. You will find that it is no longer trying to install Office.
3. However, you may also find that some drivers or applications have not loaded - you will need to do these manually from the Acer support site. If you're not sure, go to device manager to ensure all drivers are present.
Hope this helps

That's really bad luck!
If you wish, you can use a program like DBAN. You'll need to download & burn it to disk. When you then boot from it, it deletes all the content of the hard drive. However it can take a while. Once complete, you can reinstall Windows.
Or, as you suggest, you can buy a brand new hard drive & reinstall Windows on that.
