Hello,

I have an acer aspire with windows 7. I would like to only keep programs that are vital for my computer. I do not understand all of these programs, so if someone could tell me which are safe to uninstall, I would be very grateful.

They are:

Acer Backup Manager

Acer Crystal Eye webcam

Acer epower management

Acer erecovery management

Acer updater

adobe air

adobe flash player 11 activeX

adobe reader X

broadcam card reader driver installer

broadcam netlink controller

clickadvanced frameworks

cyberlink mediaExpresso

ETDware PS/2-X64

Identity Card

Microsoft silverlight

MyWinLocker Suite

newsXpresso

norton online backup

nti media maker 9

welcome center

    Hi Kate0627!

Acer Backup Manager - a useful program to back up your files etc, can be done manually.

Acer Crystal Eye webcam - This is for your webcam. May not work properly without it

Acer epower management - Useful, but not essential

Acer erecovery management - Very Important, needed if you need to restore your computer & to burn your recovery disks

Acer updater - Important, will update programs/patches for your Acer system

    adobe air - Not important

adobe flash player 11 activeX - useful for viewing certain websites.

adobe reader X - PDF reader, useful to have, others are available

broadcam card reader driver installer - Needed

    broadcam netlink controller - Needed

    clickadvanced frameworks - needed

cyberlink mediaExpresso - video/photo conversion software

    ETDware PS/2-X64 - Important

Identity Card - Important, needed by Acer if things go wrong to identify your pc type etc.

Microsoft silverlight - similar to Flash, needed by some websites

MyWinLocker Suite - Can be a useful program, not really needed

newsXpresso - News reader. Gives you the latest news for all different websites in one go

norton online backup - Not necessary, ideal for backing files up online. (a USB stick or hard drive will do)

nti media maker 9 - making CD's/DVD's coping disk.

welcome center - not really needed

Obviously, you can uninstall any program that you're not going to use, but certain programs are needed by the computer or web browser...
