Acer C720 won't turn on

I have a C720 that ahem, somehow got coffee spilled on it.  It immediately turned off and won't turn back on.  Understandable.

I'm trying to troubleshoot the problem but I can't pinpoint exactly what needs to be replaced.  When I plug the cable in, the amber charge light comes on.  When I open the Chromebook lid, nothing happens.  When I press the Power button, sometimes the blue power light comes on for a second, sometimes it doesn't.  Also when I press the power button, the fan turns on for about a second, then turns right back off.  Have reset connections, tried turning laptop on with fan, SSD, and monitor all disconnected -- no change.

Holding down the Power button for 30 seconds does nothing.  Holding down the Esc and Refresh keys, then pressing Power causes the amber light to go out for a second then come back on, but nothing else.

The coffee spill was on the back right side of the keyboard, near the power button.  I'm wondering if something in the keyboard assembly might have shorted out.  If it's either battery or the fan, it should still get some sort of picture, right?

Any help appreciated.  Laptop has been opened so warranty is now voided.

    freginold,

The warranty is not voided if a system is open, we have customers upgrade memory and parts in their systems all the time, it is considered OOW at this point. You can set it up for a paid repair with Acer if you would like, it sounds like you may have got some coffee on the motherboard and shorted it out. Here is the link to set up repairs online, or you can chat online with a technician (available 24/7).
