I just purchased a c720 and I'm really happy with it! But I want to expand the storage via the SD slot. Does it support SDHC, and what is the maximum capacity I can use? Thanks!

I can't guarantee this to be true, but elswhere I read that it's an SD*X*C slot.  Hence it'd accept anything up to the currently maximum SD-anything, which currently seems to be 128GB.

I can't confirm this "experimentally", but I refer you to this page, which states that compatibility is SDXC.
