C720: wifi disabled with no option to enable?

Does anyone know how to enable the wifi on a C720 when it is disabled?  Clicking the wifi icon in the system tray and in settings there is no option to enable.  Also, is there a way to diagnose the health of my wifi card? Maybe it is hardware related but no way to know.  Ethernet through a USB dongle works.  I've recovered the chromebook too thinking that it would reset all -- no luck.  Thanks for any guidance.

    JkATL,

I realize you said you have recovered the Chromebook, but go through these steps that Google has and see if that resolves it for you. The C720 Chromebook I have here enables just by clicking on the wireless icon in settings, I do not have to click an actual enable button.

Thanks Acer-Justin for the reply and suggestions.  I tried the power reset (minus battery removal) with no change in wifi enabling ability and yes, usually just clicking on the wireless icon enables it.  I have over a hundred here at our school and all the others have been very dependable and predictable.  My phone call to Google GAFE Support yielded no other solutions either.  I've set up a repair case and will be sending the unit to Acer for investigation and repair.  I really suspect a hardware issue although uncommon these days.
