I am working with a C720 that has a plain white screen with nothing showing. I tried to boot into recovery mode and the white screen is still showing (I am not prompted to insert a disk or to reset per the usual recovery mode). Has anyone experienced this before?

I have discovered the problem. The display is somehow inoperable and displaying a white screen. When I replaced it with a working screen it is now functional.

    Yes. that is correct.

  • Have you tried to connect your laptop to an external monitor or LCD TV in using VGA or HDMI connector?

Note: [Fn]+[F5] --> Switches display output between the display screen, external monitor (if connected) and both.

  • It's an LCD panel issue (inverter).

I give you the part number of LCD panel for Chromebook C720:
