Aspire GX-781 - USB provides power, but Windows won't recognize it

Hello.

I just got a Aspire GX-781 desktop computer and one of the USB 3.0 ports (the one of the front) isn't working properly.
I'm on Windows 10 Home, 64 bits and no matter what device I plug into the port, Windows won't recognize. I do not get any error message, nothing happens at all on Windows, it's as if I never plugged anything in.
However the port does provide power to the devices I connect there.

DM.jpgNothing catches my eye on Device Manager. All other USB ports seems to be working fine. Including the only other 3.0 port.

All USB drivers seem to be up to date.

Any help?

Edit: I just tried to boot from a USB flash drive connected to the allegedly faulty port and it didn't work, it didn't even come up as an option in the boot menu.

Further edit: It was simply a misconnected cable.

have you tried the bootable USB flash drive on other ports too?

if so...probably there's a bad connection to the front USB port.

one thing you can try is to open the side case panel and unplug/plug the USB cable and check if this fix your issue.

It turns out I'm to blame, at least partially.

I had opened the case in order to try and install one of my hard drives and in messing with the cables I disconnected the front USB one and reconnected it in the wrong place. Acer is also to blame for not providing a user manual for the motherboard otherwise I'd have noticed this. Can't find a usermanual online either. Any chance you can find it for me?

    Thanks for the help.

    You welcome.

the only user manual is the one on the official website but there are not descriptions on motherboard ports...

Yeah, I saw that one. It seems ridiculous to me.

    Thanks again.
