Hi guys,

I intend to change the graphics card as the current Nvidea GT 710 2GB Ram on my Acer Aspire XC-605 is faulty.

Are there any recommendations?
I am afraid that the graphics card I buy is not able to fit in etc

Regard,

Han

    Mghan,

I don't have an XC-605, but if I did have one, I'd probably look at a short GTX 1050.  In my opinion a GTX 1070 will run way too hot inside the case.  It's possible I might consider a GTX 1060, but that would probably be pushing the envelope (from a heat standpoint).  A safer choice would be the GTX 1050.

Please check the dimensions on any card and measure if in doubt of fit.  And make sure you can return the card if it doesn't fit.

The link below is the card I would probably purchase due to the small size of your case.  Not sure if it will fit since I don't have an XC-605.  The max length for any card for your mainboard is 6.7 inches.

Important Note:  You will need to upgrade your power supply too if you purchase a bigger graphics card.  Examples below. (your computer uses a standard ATX power supply: dimensions=150x86x140mm).

    Hi JordanB,

As it was quite complicated, I went ahead and bought another PC instead.

Due to the size and location where the graphics needed to be fixed on the motherboard, it was highly unlikely any graphics card would be able to last any longer than an hour of video editing. Due to the position of the graphics card slot, it was highly unlikely that hot air would have been able to flow out of the case easily..

However, your recommendation was excellent and I wished I had the budget to try that but I could only afford to buy a second hand computer and sell of my old one just to get the right GPU for video editing.
