Acer Aspire V3-771G and registered for Windows 10 free upgrade, but Intel driver not yet available.

I have an Acer Aspire V3-771G running Windows 8.1 and registered for Windows 10 free upgrade. I was informed that Critical hardware components made by Intel for your PC don’t have drivers for Windows 10 yet. Anyone knows which component and drivers that might be? And, when will it be available?

    winston,

In most cases there might not be a Windows 10 driver uploaded because the Windows 8 driver works perfectly fine.

I do thank you for your kind reply to my post. But I don't know what to take with your answer as the fact remains that I am not able to upgrade to Windows 10 due to the lack of WIndows 10 compatible driver(s) of the unidentified hardware component made by Intel. I would have thought that Acer had already done some upgrade testing and found the problem hardware components on behalf of it's customers.

    winston,

The V3-771G notebook is not listed as a system that will have Windows 10 drivers uploaded for it, have you contacted Microsoft's Answer Desk in regards to the compatibility issue with the installed drivers and the upgrade? I have seen where customers download and perform a clean install of Windows 10 and it works without issues, that could be a workaround for the issue.

Yes, I did post the issue to Microsoft Community and their response points me back to Acer (see MS response below)

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query at Microsoft community.

Hardware components such as Motherboard which includes sound, graphic and network cards need updated versions of drivers for a new operating system. If you got the error message while using the Get Windows App, then I would suggest you to visit the manufacturer website and download and install all the latest drivers. You may also check all pending Windows updates and install.

    ------------------------------------------------

Again, my current OS is Windows 8.1 and I have set my PC for Windows auto updates. If you know of others who have successfully upgraded from 8.1 to 10 with their Aspire V3-771G laptops, then perhaps I could give it a try. The most discouraging sign I have is that I already have 11 entries of logged data (auto by Get Windows 10 app) like:

           Update to Windows 10 Home

           Failed to install on 8/21/2015

on my update history (Settings --> Change PC Settings --> Update and recovery --> View your updae history)

with the same error code of 80240020 since 8/12/2015.

Upgraded with MediaCreationToolx64 in Windows 8.1 to win 10.

Found hibernation and fastboot not working .

Clean install of windows 10 did not change

(messed up the system with too much EFI Partitions then)

Tried to switch back to 8.1:

((AFTER deleting unnecessary ESP (=EFI) partitions (linux on second harddrive) and using such only on drive 0))

I deleted drive 1 (==msata ssd) for installation (diskpart in command prompt of recovery installation of usb stick).

At the end of installing W8.1, I was prompted to upgrade to win 10 and

did give it a try: win 10 installed and runs now with hibernate / fast boot.

    No problems for now.

I have been running Windows 10 pro on my Acer V3 771G laptop since release. I used DriverToolkit which found all the correct drivers. You do have to pay for this software but it works. I also used a free program to back up all my drivers called Double Driver.
