I just installed a new hard drive in my laptop so I'm starting from scratch.  Tried to download software for Acer driver but my computer won't run it.. After a while it just stalls and I have to stop it. Any suggestions? I am trying to get my music from the A500 to the laptop without success.

if your tablet has android 4.0, windows 8.1 must be able to install the drivers automatically.

can you please check on windows device manager, with the tablet connected, if any exclamation mark is visible?

if Yellow exclamation mark is present
    double click on it
    choose "Details" tab
    from dropdown menu, select HardwareIDs
click on the first value and copy/paste it here

Download to my tablet or laptop?  I downloaded to my laptop and I can't open the files to run. It tells me to look for an application in the google store. Thanks.

download on laptop, unzip the file, right click on the android_winusb.inf file and choose to install, once done, try to connect your tablet to the laptop.

just a doubt, is your laptop windows OS based or an Apple product?
