Plugged a Power USB into a non-power USB socket: Damage?

I plugged a charger into my w510's micro USB socket because I could not find my original charger.  It did not charge.  Did I damage my tablet or the USB reader/socket by doing this?  It was plugged in about 8 hours.

Thanks.

i think it have some kind of protection about AC chargers on microUSB, by the way you can check it, connection your device to a PC and see if it will be recognised.

    I'm not an Acer employee.

I guess I'll never know, which was the real problem.  Acer agreed to accept my return and refund my money.  Which is what they should have done, since they sent me the wrong charger to begin with.  I'll never buy refurbished again.
